They’re a very nifty way of getting a customer to access your site/event/offer that will grow in popularity as mobile phone technology advances…..very simple…you take a pic of the code with your phone and then - at your leisure - use it to get direct access to the site info you need.

The quarterly eshots, with their new design that we showcased at the Consortium meeting earlier this year are going down well. Spring Eshots were split into 2 sends. The first send for each campaign went to our ‘loyal’ consumer database, and a second batch were sent to those who signed up from the Direct Mail exercise carried out last Feb - the emails welcomed them to As Wild As You Want It, One Big Garden and Inspirational Wales. <o></o>

All of the opening and click thru rates rose (in comparison to previous sends) with our regular recipients giving an average of 15%. However, wait till you see the new sign ups response rates…<o></o>
AWAYWI saw 39% of our new sign ups opening the mail, fantastic, over 30% is considered an excellent rate throughout the marketing industry.
OBG received an unbelievably high 52% of the new sign ups opening up the e-shot.
ISWW new sign ups saw a 44% open rate of potential customers finding their inspiration.<o></o>

All of the results are up on the last communications, so we need more relevant special offers for the Autumn and winter seasons plus some good events to tell our database about, any images you can send to us to show the offers and events off to best effect are gratefully received.<o></o>

So we mailed around 15,000 postal addresses in our target areas over the border. The idea was to encourage those who used to receive a brochure to switch to digital and receive special offers and what’s on info from us. As well as being a fantastic chance to cleanse the database we also achieved some great results… and average (across the 3 campaigns) of a 3.8% return, well above the industry standard of 1-2%. Also giving them a chance to receive postal information from the three marketing areas (Swansea Bay, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire) if they ticked the box. OBG recipients with the most receptive to postal information with 2% requesting email and postal info, as expected AWAYWI audience was more receptive to email.<o></o>Take a look at the beautiful creative for the campaign and the DM response results in <o></o>full… <o></o>
